Up Coming CSN Stores review

31 August, 2010

Have y'all checked out CSN Stores?  NO??  Really???  you don't have any idea what you are missing.  There are over 200 stores to choose from, all in once place.  Being that we're buying our first home, that means that we have to furnish said home...what better way then to be able to shop at 200+ stores all at once.

One of the first things I would like to get is a nice beautiful end tables.  I mean let's face it...the end tables makes the living room!  I would love to add this accent table to our future living room!!

CSN Stores has been generous enough to allow me to review a product from one of their 200+ stores...so keep your eyes open...you never know what I'll pick!

Much Love!!

The weekend, and a Monday

30 August, 2010

Yup…it’s a Monday.  Although to me at this point everyday feels like Monday.  There’s not really any difference in my days anymore.  I watch TV, I pray for some sort of reprieve, alas, it never comes.  I’m still in pain.  I still feel like this is going to be my life forever.

I refuse to let it be.  I’m going to fight tooth and nail against it, but…I’m at a loss.  I know I need new doctors.  I know I need to stop goggling the symptoms I have, cause that’s just making me nuts.  I know I need to get out of this bed, this room, this house.  But that’s easier said than done at this point in time.

I need to start packing.  Maybe if I start packing it will really set in that we’re moving…not only moving, but moving into OUR OWN HOUSE….Our first house.  A house where I can get up and walk around, and go outside and be in more then 1.5 rooms.

I just…want…NORMAL…not that normal is ever going to happen, and I’ve accepted that, I just want QUALITY of life.  I want to be like any other 29 year old.  Buying a house, planning a family…not wondering how I’m going to make it through the day without crying in pain…

I don’t want to have to explain why I “don’t look sick”.  I don’t want people coming up to me saying, well, you don’t look sick, so you must be fine, or, it’s all in your head.  And I’m not just talking people off the streets, or family, I’m talking about doctors…you know…the ones that are supposed to help me find out what’s wrong and how to fix it?  Yeah, them.

If it wasn’t for my amazing husband, and my mom, I would have given up a long time ago…

Soda Stream Review and Giveaway *CLOSED*

23 August, 2010

Who wouldn’t love making their own soda? Lemme tell ya, we LOVE it. It saves us so much money, and is really fun. So we were thrilled when we received a Soda Stream Jet to review.
Talk about love at first fizz. Hello, my name is Amy, and I’m a diet Pepsi addict. I honestly didn’t think that Soda Stream could ever hold a candle to it. But as I sit here drinking a bottle of Root Beer that I just made like 5 minutes ago, I’ll be the first to tell you, that you absolutely CAN NOT tell the difference!

It really truly tastes just like store bought soda…and not only that, you can control how much flavor you put in. (However…be warned…add the flavor SLOWLY…otherwise it will overflow all over your carpet…TRUST ME!)

Here’s a few pictures of our new favorite drink/party item.

Pen to Paper Challenge…

22 August, 2010

Pear Tree Greetings Pearista

So…this month instead of a contest for Pearistas…they are holding a Pen to Paper Challenge.  What does that mean?

Here’s what Christy has to say about it:

Hello!

In place of a giveaway this month we are challenging you to participate in our Pen to Paper challenge, exclusive to our Pearistas! (oh, and there is something else coming in a few days, too!)

At Pear Tree, we believe in something greater than selling cards. We believe in the value of relationships and we know how much you value them, too, especially after seeing some of your posts with last month's note cards giveaway.

Paper is a form of connecting people, a great form, a real form. We know this because when we go to the mailbox, the first thing we open is the hand addressed envelope. Because inside waiting is a note card someone has taken the time to write especially for you.

So, we have a challenge for you, our Pearistas. Write a hand written note once a week for four weeks. There's so much to say. Say it's been too long to those who live long distance, write a note to one of your parents and tell them all those things you've been meaning to say but it's easier to write, or tell the people in your life you see every day and forget to express your appreciation for always being there for you. It doesn't take much, even just a simple hello in the form of a hand-written note will mean so much to the recipient!

If you accept this challenge, we'll send you 8 note cards, 4 for you and then an additional card and envelope to include in each of the 4 that you send, promoting the person you're sending a card to, to do the same, send a hand-written note. The cards will be personalized with a generic 'hello' message, which we feel is appropriate for almost any message you would want to write.

Finally, as we know a part of being a blogger is sharing your experiences, we ask you then commit to following up each note with a post about what writing the note meant to you. Scan in your note if you want to, but we understand if it was a private note! But more importantly, tell us about how you felt writing the card. What were the responses you got back? Did you get creative and include something else along with the card (picture, etc.)? Once a week we will pick out one Pearista's post to feature on our Pear Tree blog (obviously with the consent of the Pearista) and award that Pearista a $50 credit towards any Pear Tree purchase (ahem, the need for holiday cards isn't that far away).

Do you accept? Just send me an email or comment on this post telling me you're accepting the challenge by this Saturday, August 7th, and we'll get your cards in the mail to you the following week, for sure by Saturday the 14th. Week one of the challenge will start Sunday, August 15th.

I can't wait to read your posts!

Christy

So…I’m a little early…but here’s what I did for my first one…You may or may not know that Fire Husband is currently in the NCO academy, through a satellite course…started a couple weeks ago, and goes through the end of Oct. here…then he will spend 2 weeks at another ANG base for the remainder of his class, and graduation.  The first couple days of class were less then pleasant for him…between his full time job, and class and all…he’s a wee bit stressed.  But that’s neither here nor there…

We have a tradition here in our house.  Anytime Fire Husband leaves…for any amount of time…a week, a month, whatever…I put a note in his stuff before he leaves for him to find when he gets to his destination.

Well, yeah, I know he technically didn’t “go” anywhere…just to his ANG base…but I could sense that he needed a pick me up.  So on Thursday, I took one of the Pear Tree Greeting cards that I received for the challenge, wrote it out a 0530 (5:30AM) and tucked it safely away in his ABU’s for him to find before class.  In this note, I told the love of my life and best friend how much I love him, and how very very proud I am of him for all that he does everyday.

He found the note just before class, and said that it was just the encouragement that he needed that day.  He had a great class.

He truly is the most wonderful thing that ever happened to me.  I’m blessed to have him as my soul mate, and husband.

I’m not sure who will be the recipient of next weeks card…so come back and check it out!

Congrats Heidi!!

Thank you to everyone that entered...be sure to keep an eye out for new giveaways...I've got a ton coming up!

The one where I want to curl up and cry...

ok...brace yourself...and grab a cupa...it's gonna be a long one...

Things currently suck...not just a little, alot.  I feel like I'm dying...pain doesn't even begin to describe what I'm feeling.  My fibro is RAGING...clothes hurt...the touch of my loving and amazing husband hurts...that's the worst part...the touch of my soulmate, my love...my reason for being, HURTS.

I don't know what to do.  I have an appointment with my Rheumatioligist...but not till the middle of next month...I can't make it that long...I just can't.  I can't work on my feet for 20-30 hours a week in a sweltering kitchen, and hurt so badly...I just don't know what to do.  I feel like I'm going to break down.

And to add on to it...I've been having problems with my foot...I've had surgery on it before, I've fractured it since...come to find out, the fracture didn't heal correctly, and now it's putting extra stress on the rest of my foot.  Awesome...turns out there's not really anything that can be done...

I'm at a loss, and at the end of my rope...This is me...waving the white flag...

Winner, Winner...ummm, Sushi dinner??

02 August, 2010

So...I may have forgotten that I needed to choose a winner for the Ashley's Trinkets Key Fobs!!

So, I went to random.org and it chose #27

An update or something like it...

01 August, 2010

Yup, I'm that kid.  It's been a LONG couple weeks.  Between me working overtime (well not technically, but it's more then I usually work a week) and Fire Husband working overtime.  I feel like I've missed the last few weeks.  I know I have on here.  So I figured it was about time for an update.

Let's see...ummm...I <3 Hannah....she keeps my butt company at least 1 day a week.  We both have gotten into PWOC.

We got our pre-approval for our home loan...now we can really get down to business looking for a house.  It makes me SO HAPPY.  The thought of having our own house...AMAZING.

Work is...well, work...it's a necessity, not so much something I want to do on a daily, but, whatever...it's money.

But on a bright note...I found out today, that I've got my FIRST PAID SHOOT EVER.  Not for a couple months...but still, I'm STOKED!

That being said...I'm SCARRED...what if they don't like them??

I need this to work...I want this to work...It's my goal to have my photography take off.  I want this to be my job...to be able to set my schedule around Fire Husbands....This HAS to work....

Much Love
